Village Development
The aim of this project is to develop a kind of model village. It should be possible to apply the concept in other regions of Afghanistan, too. The project shall be a nucleus. Our vision is that women can regain a positive outlook on live and self esteem when they get education, when we help them with their health problems and strengthen their economic base.

The project contains the following elements:

1. Construction of a primary school for both boys and girls.

2. Installation of a dispensary for women and support for women of the village to become health workers and midwives.

3.Courses for alphabetisation of adult women.

4. Installation of Energy Stations run by wind and solar power. This provides energy to run butter making machines, washing machines and light bulbs. Therefore it helps to ease the daily burden of women and prevents back - and joint pain.

5. We want to enhance home industries / village industries, especially to help needy women to gain a source of income. Solar drying of fruit and solar reflectors for food processing are planned for that purpose.

6. Centre for renewable energy
The centre will produce small wind turbines, solar lanterns, solar hot water collectors, solar butter making machines, Scheffler -Reflectors and solar dryers.
It will create employment and serve to inform the population about the use of renewable energies. Additionally product oriented vocational training for the youth can take place.

7. Solar toys
Kids from the village school can build their solar toys. This way they get an understanding for the link between energy use and environmental problems.
They have a fascinating and educative task for their spare time and their families get an idea about the use of solar energy.

8. Computer course
Once the village has energy it is time to teach the pupils the basics about technology and modern communication. Kids form the village school as well as those who attend higher education away from the village shall have the chance to learn the use of computers in the winter holidays when no farming activities can be done.
